Prego Update - 12 Weeks

How Far Along - 12 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss - Back to ZERO!

Swarley's Fruit Size: A plum!

Maternity Clothes - Rocking the maternity pants, and not trying so hard to hide the bump...

Sleep - Sleeping better through the night...still needing lots of naps!

Best Moment of the Week - 12 week ultrasound, where Swarley looks more and more like a baby!

Movement - Probably at least another 5 weeks before I can feel anything!

Food Cravings - Olives....

Food aversions - Still sweets, such as cake and even ice cream...aren't I supposed to be craving ice cream?

Gender - Hope to find out sometime in June! Anyone want to make a guess? Or wager? ;)

Labor Signs - Way to early!

Belly Button - No change

What I miss - Oddly enough I was craving red wine this week, and I don't even like red wine!

What I'm looking forward to – The supposed energy that comes in the next few months!

Milestones - THE START OF MY SECOND TRIMESTER! Whooo hooo!! :)

Swarley's 12 Week Ultrasound

I think we have a thumbsucker on our hands!! :)

Swarley is about 2 inches long as of 4/22

Swarley's Fruit Size!

I find it fun that you can imagine how big Swarely is by comparing the baby to various fruits! I have decided to begin including this fact in my weekly updates. Because we have missed a few weeks....here is where Swarely has come from:

Week 4: Poppyseed

Week 5: Appleseed

Week 6: Sweet Pea

Week 7: Blueberry

Week 8: Raspberry

Week 9: Green Olive

Week 10: Prune

Week 11: Lime

Prego Update - 11 Weeks

How Far Along - 11 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss - Maybe a pound or two...

Maternity Clothes - I don't fit into a single pair of pants...thank goodness maternity pants are so comfy!!

Sleep - Maybe peeing less? I have randomly been super cold the last few nights, even though the temp of our bedroom has not changed. Not sure if that is pregnancy related or not. I can't seem to find pj's that are comfy! Tee-shirts from college are way too tight!

Best Moment of the Week - Making a killing at Motherhood Maternity! Found a bunch of cute shirts on clearance for the Fall...saved a bunch of mula! And of course buying the nursery furnitue!

Movement - Probably at least another 6 weeks before I can feel anything!

Food Cravings - Still eggs, anything salty, chocolate milk

Food aversions - Sweets..not a bad aversion to have! Although I was sad that Amanda's home made banana muffins with peanut butter frosting didn't appeal to me... :-( And La Festa Pizza! Can you believe it??

Gender - Hope to find out sometime in June! Anyone want to make a guess? Or wager? ;)

Labor Signs - Way to early! But its been fun following Kristi's constant Braxton Hicks!

Belly Button - No change

What I miss - Sushi and Margaritas! I actually went out to eat with Ryan at our fav sushi place...and survived watching him pound down a roll or two! And I forgot how much I love Shirley Temples!

What I'm looking forward to – the end of my first trimester...one more week to go!

Milestones - Officially transitioning to maternity clothes

Nursery Furniture!

So we know it seems a little early, considering I am barely through my first trimester...but after much research, Ryan and I have picked out a crib and a changing table/dresser for Swarely! We heard from many friends that it often takes 10-12 weeks to have furniture delivered, and Aunt Rachael is going to be visiting during the month of July to paint a mural in Swarely's nursery. We wanted to make sure we had the furniture set up where we want it...the last thing we need is a dresser hiding a beautiful mural! Much to our surprise...the store had both pieces in stock, so we drove of with them last night!

This line of furniture (Babi Italia) got fantastic safety ratings, which we read about in "Baby Bargains".....a book I highly recomend to get the most bang for your buck! (It doesn't look like it in the picture...but the wood matches nicely!) We can place a changing pad on top of the dresser for all of those diaper changes, but once the child is potty trained...removing the pad makes it a wonderful dresser!

Its almost time to pick paint colors...stay tuned!

Prego Update - 10 Weeks

How Far Along - 10 weeks, give or take a day

Total Weight Gain/Loss - ZERO! I think....I keep being weighed on different scales! Maybe I have gained a pound...

Maternity Clothes - Wearing mostly bella bands or maternity pants. I still have a few pairs of other pants that fit ok. Tops still fitting fine! Although I notice I have to not wear clingy shirts at work these days, since I haven't filled everyone I work with in yet!

Sleep - Still waking up 2-3 times a night for bathroom breaks. My lower back hurts, which makes it hard for me to stay asleep. Not feeling rested in the AM.

Best Moment of the Week - Ultrasound #3! Seeing that Swarley switched positions, the baby's head is were it's tush used to be! Also...my friend Erin is in labor as I type with one of Swarely's future buddies! Best wishes, Groeber Family!

Movement - None

Food Cravings - Still eggs, and chocolate. and peanut butter and fluff sandwiches.

Food aversions - Anything gross looking - instant vomit!

Gender - Hope to find out sometime in June!

Labor Signs - Way to early!

Belly Button - No change

What I miss - Sushi and Margaritas!

What I'm looking forward to – Getting through work without wanting/needing a nap!

Weekly Wisdom - I had been counting week 14 as end of first trimester, but Dr. Turer says 12 is what she counts. I am excited for the next two weeks, and will have a sigh of relief once my second trimester starts!

Milestones - First prenatal appointment with Dr. Turer - seeing Swarley dance like daddy!

10 Week Prenatal Visit...I mean 9 weeks 2 days!

Ryan and I went to meet with Dr. Turer, my OBGYN, today for the first time. (We were previously being seen by a specialist). We had another ultrasound and Swarely was measuring 9 weeks 2 days today. At the start of the appointment, Dr. Turer had estimated by due date to be November 7th...by the end she said November 10th....we are just going to stick with November 8th for now until we hear something more consistant!

Anyway, she said everything looked FANTASTIC! The babies heart was beating away, and boy was Swarley beeboppin' all over the place! The arms were waving everywhere too, that was fun to see! You can definitely see Swarely's arms on the ultrasound picture now.

I go back in about a week and a half for some genetic screening bloodwork, and yet another ultrasound.
She did a physical exam today, and said that I am definitely starting to "pop"....so its not just my imagination that my pants are getting too tight, as Ryan might have suggested ;) We hope to have "baby bump" pictures up soon...

We also got the exciting news that assuming my pregnancy is healthy...I am cleared to fly up to 36 weeks! That means our planned fall trips to South Carolina and Wisconson are a go!

Overall...great appointment!

Prego Update - 9 weeks

How Far Along - 9 weeks today!

Total Weight Gain/Loss - ZERO! I have actually lost some weight due to better eating habits, but am now back to my origional weight pre-Swarely.

Maternity Clothes - Most of my pants and caprees are getting pretty tight, and a few are hard to button. I am convinced that it is 99% bloating, and 1% Swarley. I have started to wear the Bellabands that allow me to still fit into my non-maternity clothes.

Sleep - I am pretty tired by the afternoon, and never stay up past 10 PM. Sleep is a little tough since I have to wake up to pee every couple of hours!

Best Moment of the Week - I am excited for Friday when we have another ultrasound!

Movement - None, just gas bubbles due to bloating.

Food Cravings - Eggs, Eggs, Eggs. Hard boiled, scrambled, egg sandwiches, egg salad, deviled, you name it!

Food aversions - Anything gross looking - instant vomit!

Gender - Not sure! I think its a girl....Ryan thinks its a boy.

Labor Signs - Way to early! Although I am having my fair share of lower back pain.

Belly Button - No change

What I miss - Sushi and Margaritas!

What I'm looking forward to – Showing with baby - not bloating, and fitting into maternity clothes! I still have a ways to go...

Weekly Wisdom - Taking things one day at a time, as I still have 5 weeks left in my first trimester! Hoping for the best!

Milestones - Seeing AND hearing Swarley's heartbeat for the first time last week! AMAZING!

8 Week Ultrasound - March 29, 2010

6 Week Ultrasound - March 12, 2010

Is That A Line???

On March 1st 2010, I became suspicous of my missing period and decided to take a pregnancy test. The only problem was that we had been without power for a number of days. I did the whole "pee on a stick" routine, and had to wait for the results by the light of a flashlight! Sure enough...a few minutes later, two lines appeared!

I went for a blood test that morning, and it confirmed that I was pregnant! After work, I presented Ryan with a few "expectant father" books, and he began jumping around the kitchen. Needless to say, we are both excited!

My due date as of now is November 8th! We flew to Maryland and filled in our families over the weekend of March 26th. They are also very excited. Ryan's mom, Alyse, is praying for a grandaughter, as she already has a grandson, and my parents are debating over their grandparent names to be.

We hope you enjoy our baby blog, and plan on giving you at least weekly updates on our 9 month journey!
