Prego Update - 21 Weeks!

How Far Along - 21 weeks - MORE than half way done :)

Total Weight Gain/Loss - Still stable at 6 pounds, although we have a doc appointment Tuesday, so we will see what the "official" stats are!

Swarley's Fruit (or Vegetable!) Size - a banana, one of Cousin Nick's fav's!

Maternity Clothes - I am learning that although the full panel pants are the most comfortable..the are also the most HOT!

Sleep - Eh...lots of tossing and turning.

Best Moment of the Week - Daddy felt his first kick!!!! Swarley has been moving around a lot these days. Ryan would sit with his hand on my stomach for hours...but was unable to feel the slow rolls and turns of our active kiddo. Luckily, on Sunday night Swarley gave one swift kick right to Ryan's hand...BOOM! He knew right away that it was the real deal! Ryan hasn't felt anything since...but I think it was enough to keep him happy for awhile....

Movement - On and off all day long. I am starting to recognize Swarl's sleep schedule. He is very still in the morning; I think he likes to sleep in like his Mommy :) He then starts to move a lot after lunch, and then again after dinner. Lastly, he moves like crazy right when I am trying to fall asleep. Every once in awhile if I have been still or sitting, I get a little jab here or there, as if Swarley is saying..."hello...can we move around again please?" In fact, he is moving around right now, maybe he wants to say hi on the blog!

Food Cravings - LOBSTER! I finally got some tonight with Ryan's family...YUM!

Food Aversions - I think food aversions are a thing of the past....

Gender - BABY BOY!

Labor Signs - Anticipating my first Braxton Hicks contraction...nothing yet though!

Belly Button - It is looking very shallow these days...almost level with my stomach.

What I miss - Sushi...especially since Rachael made some home made sushi for dinner tonight to go with our lobster!

What I'm Looking Forward To - My road trip to Higgins Lake this week with Grammy! (ANNOUNCEMENT: My mom has decided to try out "grammy" instead of "meemaw" for her future g-ma name...)

Milestones - Swarley and Ryan making contact! BOOM! Also, a special shout out to my paternal grandparents, Phyllis and Dave Moffitt, as they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this weekend!

Here are some more fun pics of our little family:

Silly Daddy...you should have seen him trying to get Nick's PJ's on!

Prego Update - 20 Weeks

How Far Along - 20 weeks - HALF WAY DONE! 20 more weeks to go, give or take!

Total Weight Gain/Loss - 6 pounds...Swarley has really done some growing these last few weeks, and it shows! Feeling a bit swollen...

Swarley's Fruit (or Vegetable!) Size - A cantaloupe, my favorite fruit!

Maternity Clothes - Just got some more long sleeve shirts for the Fall...thanks Kristi!

Sleep - Going to bed swollen...but waking up ok. Just got an air conditioner for our bedroom, yahoo!!

Best Moment of the Week - Ryan's first Father's Day! Swarley gave his daddy a "manly diaper bag" which he loved! We also painted the nursery in preparation for Aunt Rachael's arrival next week. Almost mural painting time! (See below for fun painting pictures).

Movement - I think Swarles is perfecting his forward roll....Ryan can't wait to feel something, but I think he has a few more weeks to go.

Food Cravings - Nothing specific...just FOOD!

Food Aversions - Nothing new this week that I can think of.

Gender - BABY BOY!

Labor Signs - n/a

Belly Button - No change other than a bigger belly!

What I miss - Sushi...didn't help that we went out for sushi with Uncle Andrew :)

What I'm Looking Forward To  - A visit from Mom Mom, Aunt Rachael, and Cousin Nick!

Milestones - Reaching the halfway point! And sadly either due to the heat of summer, or just being pregnant...my wedding band and engagement ring no longer fit... :-(

Prego Update - 19 Weeks

How Far Along - 19 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss - 3 POUNDS!! At my last doctor's check up, she said that it as ok that I have not gained any weight above my starting weight for now, but by 20 weeks they would look for at least a few pounds of weight gain, as that is when the baby starts to weigh over a pound. Looks like I gained some weight just in time!

Swarley's Fruit (or Vegetable!) - A mango

Maternity Clothes - Still wearing them! No new news to report...

Sleep - Waking up with backaches...but stomach feels OK as long as I use my cheese wedge pillow.

Best Moment of the Week - Our second ultrasound confirming Swarley's gender!

Movement - All the time, especially in the evening. It as fun watching Swarley kick in the ultrasound, and feeling him move at the same time! Ryan is anxious to feel him move...but he will have to wait  few more weeks.

Food Cravings - This week I definitely had my first "Honey, I need you to bring me home this food item RIGHT NOW" moment! Luckily Ryan was already out to dinner with some grad school friends when I called and asked him to bring me home a cobb salad with ranch dressing. I guess salad is not the worst food craving I could be having!

Food Aversions - Nothing new this week that I can think of.

Gender - BABY BOY!

Labor Signs - n/a

Belly Button - Swarley is just about equal with my naval at this point, so I should be looking for popping soon!

What I miss - Rare steak and hamburgers

What I'm looking forward to – Playing the name game for real!

Milestones - Finding out Swarley's gender...I feel like a broken record!

Look what 2 months of growing can do!

BOY!

This just in! Swarley is officially a BOY! Ryan and I (well mostly me) could not stand  the thought of not knowing Swarely's gender, so we went to "Sneak Peek Ultrasound" in Londonderry, NH today for a second ultrasound. It was a fantastic experience! The tech was super nice, and showed us Swarely's tell tale gender signs right away! And let me tell you...Swarley was loud and proud of his male gender this afternoon; there was no mistaking it! We also went home with a DVD of the ultrasound, where you can see Swarley yawning and kicking...so cute!

Anyway, the whole experience was so exciting that both Ryan and I (and even Chomper) came straight home and fell asleep on the couch for the remainder of the evening...that being said, I will give you my 19 week update tomorrow :)

Yay for a BOY!

Swarley is...still Swarley!

So after an hour and 15 minutes of drinking juice, rolling over, doing jumping jacks, spinning in circles...the ultrasound tech was unable to confirm or deny the sex of Swarley....

She said that she did not see any girl parts....thought she might have seen some boy parts...but that the umbilical cord was dangling between the baby's legs; blocking her full view. She ended the appointment by saying "I think its a boy....but save your receipts!"

What we did learn is that Swarley now weighs approximately 9 oz (larger than most 18 week babies!), has a normal heart, spine, palate, headsize, bladder, kidneys, as well as many other organs and parts!

The tech said we could beg my doctor at my next appointment to roll in the portable ultrasound machine to have her take a peak, even though there is no medical reason to have another ultrasound. It would be up to my doc to whether or not she has the time, etc.

So needless to say, not exactly what we were hoping for this AM! But we think we have a son??

Here are some fun pics:

Prego Update - 18 Weeks

Here is Swarley at 18 weeks! Ryan needs the computer to write a paper in a sec so I don't have time to do my normal weekly update...but expect exciting news on Thursday after our ultrasound!! We can't wait!

Swarley has some place to sleep!

Just getting started...

Ryan hard at work.

Someone's gotta read the directions...

This photo was totally staged!

Just tightening up the last screws...

First we tried this set up.
(Chomper's first blog appearance!)

But we settled on this set up.

So cute! Now all we need is a baby!

These last few photos are just for fun:
