Carson @ 3 Weeks

Week Three of Carson's life was pretty low key. While I was home resting from my gall bladder surgery, my mom was busy cleaning, doing laundry, changing diapers, making sure I drank enough fluid, and lots lots more! We were lucky to have Grammy here, as Ryan was in Manhattan with his MBA program from Wednesday through Saturday. Although he missed Carson, he had a blast opening the New York Stock Exchange, shadowing at Morgan Stanley, and seeing "In the Heights" on Broadway!

Here are some pictures documenting Carson's 3rd week of life:

Carson can't wait to see his Grampa Moose at Christmas!

 Doing some serious thinking...

Resting with Mommy post surgery...we both were wiped!

 Before bath...

 After bath!

I love him in bright colors!
 Forget baby pastels!

 Lounging!

Carson thought that maybe if he dressed in his business attire...he could go to NYC with Daddy...maybe next time!

Missing Daddy :(

Carson is more alert every day!

But I can only stay awake so long!

Its hard to believe that Carson will be 4 weeks old tomorrow!

We are looking forward to celebrating his first Thanksgiving with the Curtis family who are flying in from Baltimore on Tuesday!

Gall Bladder Surgery a Success!

Here I am, just hours after surgery!

Gall bladder surgery was a success! I am pretty soar, and am having trouble walking around, sitting up, etc. Perhaps the hardest part is being essentially unable to hold the baby :( I do OK with him sitting on my lap. Amazingly, the only insicion they made was a small one through my belly button, as the proceedure was done laproscopically. It feels a little weird being in so much pain, but only have a simple bandaid across my naval!

Grammy did an excellent job talking care of Carson while Ryan was supporting me at the hospital. I planned head and pumped a bunch of milk, as I anticipated breast feeding being very difficult post surgery. Doc says it will take 7-10 days for me to feel back to normal....we will see how I feel tomorrow! Thanks for everyone's well wishes....and I am thrilled that all of this gall bladder nonsense is behind us!

The night before the procedure, Ryan and I had two of our closest friends over for a "last fat free bland diet" meal. Carson was very excited to meet them both :)

One of Katie's first times holding a baby!

Joe was just ecstatic to finally hold this little one in his arms!

2 Week Check Up!

Carson had his first doctor's appointment today, and it was excellent!

He is still a tiny guy...but has managed to grow 1.5 inches totaling to 20.5 inches long. His feet are finally starting to reach the footsies in newborn clothing...say goodbye to his preemie outfits!

At birth, he weighed 6lbs 2oz...but dropped to 5lbs 13oz at the time of our hospital discharge. He was rather slow at gaining the weight back in the beginning, as he tended to be a "lazy eater." However, thanks to a crazy nursing schedule, he now is 5 oz over his birth weight, totaling to 6lbs 7oz...a huge feat for a tiny 2 week old baby!

We are very happy with our healthy little fella! So is Grampa Moose :)
