Chomper the Big Sister

I went to grab a load of laundry out of the dryer, leaving Carson resting on his boppy, to find this...

Chomper has become quite the mother hen, which is a 180 from when when Carson first came home from the hospital! She now begs to be let into his nursery when he is napping, and while still enjoying our bed at night...she comes and paws at me if I do not wake up fast enough to Carson's cries...

As you enter into Carson's nursery, there is a loose floorboard underneath the carpeting. Ryan and I have learned how to navigate around it to avoid a noisy creek...however Chomper insists on accompanying us when we check on him from time to time...she has yet to learn the creek avoiding path, and often wakes Carson up if he is lightly sleeping!

Carson is all smiles when Chomper gives him kisses. And when Chomper comes in from a romp in the snow...she runs around the house checking every possible baby location...the pack and play...the swing...until she finds him! Its fun to see their budding relationship!

Mom Haircut!

So for years, I used to love to wear my hair short...its so thick and hard to manage...it was much easier to have it short rather than long. I wore it this way most of college, where Ryan and I met. Shortly after we started dating, Ryan started going on and on about how much he loved long hair...especially on a brunette...and begged that I grow it out, stating that "you can have short hair when you are a mom...you can get a "Mom Haircut" then...

So I reluctantly agreed to grow it out, and it looked lovely long at our wedding, and for many years after. Secretly I was growing very tired of my long hair...its not like I ever did anything with it anyway! It always ended up in a ponytail or a messy knot on the top of my head. So...once I got pregnant...I knew this was my chance....once I was a mom...there was no looking back! :) I also have always wanted to donate my hair, as I feel as though I have enough of it to make at least 10 wigs...haha j/k. But seriously, with the help of prenatal vitamins, I was sure I would be able to grow it out long enough to donate!

As I predicted, you have no time for long hair as a mom...I can't blow dry it, let alone find time to brush it....its always falling in my face or Carson's face when nursing...and he has definitely discovered how to yank on it...HARD! So this past weekend, I handed Ryan a baby and two pumped bottles, and declared that I was off to get my Mom Haircut...here are the results!

I may not be able to get it to look as fabulous as my hairdresser did on a daily basis...but it has definitely proven to be much easier to manage! I have even cut my shower down by 5 minutes, which is great considering I am lucky if I even get a shower some days!

All in all, I am very pleased with my haircut decision! I hope you all like it, too :)

P.S. tell Ryan how fantastic it looks...he is mourning the loss of my beautiful locks...

SNOW DAY WITH DADDY!!

Sure, Daddy, I would love to help you shovel the deck!

Carson worked so hard that he literally fell asleep in the snow...

New Toys for our New Boy!

Carson is now 2 and a half months old...we can hardly believe it! He is growing more and more everyday, currently weighing in at just under 11 pounds! He is getting very skilled at holding his head up, which meant we were able to introduce some new toys! Both Carson and Chomper found them very exciting...

Bumbo Fun!

Tummy Time!

Chomper Loving!

Carson might still be a little small for this...

All of this playing makes our little boy tired!
What's Daddy's excuse? ;)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful 2011 so far!
Carson would love to read some comments!! :)

More Holiday Fun!

While on his trip to Maryland/Delaware, Carson got to spend time with three out of his four great grandmothers! He hopes to meet his fourth great grandmother (Nan Meyer) this summer during his first trip to Higgins Lake!

 "Mom Mom Joe"

 "Gigi"

 "Great Gram"

He also had a blast with Cousin Nick!

He loved smiling at his only living great grandfather!

 "Grape"

Sadly, Carson's other great grandfather, David Moffitt, passed away on Christmas Eve. Thank you for the many condolences our family received, your support was amazing!

Although the two were never able to meet, Carson was blessed to meet lots of Moffitt cousins and aunts and uncles. He loved his super tall cousins, Jack, Bobby, and David! Jack and Bobby are well over 6 feet...and David is on his way! Ryan is hoping Carson will have some recessive Moffitt height genes that will allow him to be a basketball star...

Carson was psyched to meet many of Ryan and Susie's good friends...and even enjoyed a night of bowling...however...I have no pics to post, so if any of you have any pictures from that night, email them to me! :)

Over all, we had a very successful and fun first family roadtrip to Maryland over the holidays! Here is some more photographic evidence:

Carson and Mommy...how come I always look tired in pictures? haha....

 Vegging in my boppy

Last but not least...Carson had a fantastic New Years Eve with his Grammy while Mommy and Daddy got to celebrate with friends! (First time sans baby!)

 "Happy New Year!" Carson says!

2011 is going to be great!

As if Carson actually made it until midnight... :)
