...If you can remember...the northeast got hit by a massive Nor'easter that very afternoon! The snow started to fall just as we turned into the farm parking lot. The farm was nice enough to move the outdoor party into their toasty warm greenhouse. Our hayride turned into more of a sleigh ride...and needless to say, the corn maze was all together skipped!
We were so grateful for all of Carson's family and friends that were such good sports and stuck it out through the entire party! We didn't lose a single RSVPed guest to the weather!
Afterwards, a handful of people headed back to our house for some pizza and presents....smack in the middle of opening Carson's gifts, the power went out! We would be out of power for the next 4 days...yet again, we didn't lose a single guest to unforeseen circumstances! Carson's buddies all stayed another hour and a half or so to finish with the festivities! The handful of babies that were present seemed to enjoy the dark "ambiance" as they chased each other around our kitchen. Good times! It will surely be a First Birthday to remember!
